We delivered our first set of five trucks on the 17th of May in Las Vegas. On the return trip to Tracy the wind was brutal. Joe noticed a “Dust Rainbow” he called our attention to. I don’t know if it qualifies for a rainbow but it does look like something.
Yesterday morning early, Joe, Jim, and I arrived at the truck lot in Tracy to begin the process of staging the towed trucks and the driving trucks. The guys took over that job while I finished inspecting the last eight of 30 trucks.
The wrenches and fittings for the air brake set up on the back trucks were passed on to Jim. He was given the tasks that I normally do. Jim won in the fracas although it looks differently.
He did a fantastic job on both of the back trucks. He was also right in the thick of it getting the trucks hooked up and ready to get on the road.
Once again I will be following these guys in a bobtail.
We spent the night in Santa Nella, California after we had the lug nuts on all the wheels tightened. Taking no chances in having more excitement than necessary on this trip. Leaving the hotel at 4:00 local time this morning traffic was fairly light. We should deliver these trucks around 4:30 local time in Las Vegas this afternoon.
Jim will have a rematch with the brakes on the back trucks when we unload. Mercy sakes! I think I will have a certificate in First Aid before too long.
Hope you all have a great day today.
