Here is an “Are you a problem solver?” question.
The scenario is this. It is Friday. You have to make a delivery before noon in Jacksonville, Florida. Next is to get yourself and equipment to Lakeland, Florida before close of business, which is 5 pm. Further you have to do inspections of four trucks, plus get them moved off of the dealership property by the time the gates will be locked for the weekend.
You have successfully delivered in Jacksonville 20 minutes past the time window allotted for the next pickup in Lakeland.
The GPS indicates, at a driving speed of 68 mph you will arrive in Lakeland at 4:30 pm.
One hour into your dash to Lakeland one bank of the fuel injection system goes out. Your speed has been reduced from 68 mph to 45 mph. The vehicle is struggling to maintain the 45 mph.
You have to make a decision to solve this problem. It can be done. The four trucks in Lakeland can be off the property on Friday night since the people there will wait only until 6 pm for your arrival and departure.
What would you do?
Our solution to the problem will be made known in a follow up post.
