We delivered trucks to an auction lot in Tunica, Mississippi last week. Ending our trek from the northwest to the mid south.
We had to be home for one of Joe’s doctor appointments and to recuperate from a stomach virus the first part of April and spastic weather changes throughout the month.
While traveling through Northern California in early April we had to make a stop at the Olive Pit in Corning, California. Joe restocked his olive collection while I made a mad dash to the snack aisle. My favorite is Jordan Almonds. Pastel hard candy shell covering a crunchy almond.
I broke a tooth eating the candy :-(. By the time we got home at the end of the month I had a good chipmunk thing going on.
Had the tooth pulled on Monday, prescribed an antibiotic for the infection and pain killers that put me to sleep. Knocked me right out.
Checking the trucks out at Western Express yesterday we encountered a myriad of problems. Dead batteries, windshield wipers that don’t work, one truck was so low on oil it took nearly 2 gallons to get it topped off, and one truck had a leaking rear axle. All of these things had to be fixed before we could even think of leaving.
The truck Joe would be driving had a hole in the exhaust pipe. A small one, to be sure, but one that could prove problematic with the DOT.
My newly repaired straps are mounted and in use.
We have been requested to move the “Mid-Roof” trucks first because they have already been sold.
We are driving the “Condo” units. These have double bunks in them and are higher.
This morning we are waiting for the truck with the hole in the exhaust to be fixed. When that is done we will get Joe all hooked up and we will head out and make our way to Texas. Delivery will be tomorrow afternoon.
Hope you have a great day. Spring is here in Tennessee and the air is cool with sunny skies 🙂
