Maureen, bless her heart, baked cookies for Joe

Today is the first day back on the road since arriving home on August 5th. Both of us are glad to be back to work for different reasons.

Joe is glad because he is feeling better and is able to regain his standing as household provider.

I’m glad because there is no more cooking and dishes. And not just because of my most recent foray into cooking for Joe and his Coumadin (Warfarin) regimen. I know, I’m a harridan.

We are deadheading to McAllen, Texas for work. This week and most of next will be moving trucks from McAllen to Ft. Worth.

As soon as I knew we had this run I had to find out if Maureen would be near home. Her family keeps her super busy.

A chance to drop by and take a peek at her craft room was a mandatory stop :D. It was wonderful spending almost two hours with her.

Now that Joe is feeling better he had a rapt audience for his musings of the world. Poor Maureen. Really though, the brief visit was fantastic. We will do it once again, hopefully, on one of the return trips back down to McAllen.

Thank you Maureen, Shannon, and Charlie for your gracious and warm welcome into your home.

It was such a treat to see you! The both of you looked so RELAXED! Nothing like a health setback to remind us ALL how blessed we are! Seriously, the both of you looked awesome, and I hope you ration Joe’s cookies and not let him overdo it! Hope to see you soon!

Thank you for the gift of your friendship.

Having a month off does wonders for frazzled minds and bodies. Helps to have a health crisis, or two, to jump start the heart and make a body run around in circles flailing their arms.

Seriously though, the few hours spent with you and your family was a bonus in our lives getting back to normal.

I have a plan for rationing the cookies to Joe. One for him and two for me :D. That should work, you think?

      Love you – Leslie

Yep, Maureen and cookies go together well :-). I wonder if that is Joe’s memory trigger for her 😉

When I mention your name he says “The UK, right?”. For Shelly he says “Illinois or Indiana, right?”. For Jann he says “Nashville!”. So it stands to reason that Maureen would be cookies and not Texas 😉

Thank you my friend. We will be careful working. I’ll watch over Joe do he doesn’t hurt himself.

      Love you – Leslie
