We arrived in Phoenix, Arizona at 5 pm (Central Time – 3 Local) to the JB Hunt facility for our trucks going to Houston, Texas.
I have a “Single Axle” day cab – aka – City Delivery truck which I’m towing.
This type of truck is used by businesses such as Coca Cola to pull a trailer filled with product from one store or warehouse to another.
The short wheel base is ideal for this application for maneuvering easily through city streets.
The truck I’m driving is a “Tandem Axle” day cab. This just means there are two rear axles instead of a single.
This type of truck is used by UPS and FedEx for highway use as well as city delivery.
These trucks are called “Daycabs” because there is not a sleeper attached to the back of the cab.
Sunday morning we went back to JB Hunt to get Joe’s trucks and park them at our hotel for the weekend along with mine.
This trailer Joe designed allows us the ability to get around town when we visit our kids.
He is such a ham :D.
Today we have to buy permits from the State of Arizona to travel their highways when we leave tomorrow.
Having our pickup down allows us the ability to get around while visiting family and running errands. Cuts down on our kids being the “Taxi” service.
Joe will be with our Son-in-Law, Jaime, today. Doing some “male bonding”. The light bar Joe purchased in Albuquerque, New Mexico to replace the one stolen…
will be reconstructed by the two guys at Jaime’s shop.
I will do a post about Jaime and Carissa’s business. GideonArc is the name of it.
Jaime constructs and builds specialized equipment for the semi conductor industry. Carissa is the “CFO” – Chief Financial Officer :D. I’m so proud of these two young people.
Time to get dressed and drive to the permit office. Get that bit of business out of the way so Carissa and I can spend the day together and see Heidi Jo later tonight. Squeeze in family time before it is back to the Day Job.
Hope everyone has an excellent day and your Monday goes well.
