I’m ready to begin working.
We are now waiting at our pick up site – Western Express – to begin the inspection process then hooking up. We have been waiting for 45 minutes with Joe playing phone Ping Pong. You know what that is. One person doesn’t know why we are here and passes Joe off to someone else. About every third call was forwarded to voice mail.
For now we wait. Nice morning to wait. Cool breeze through the window. Wonderful, really wonderful, aroma of wet earth after the rain – light sprinkle actually.
The sky is over cast with thick gray clouds.
Summer heat will be here all too soon. I’m going to enjoy the cool air while I can.
I have a hole in my glove. Protects most of my hand.
My thumb will remain grease stained today.
My trucks are hooked up. Time to get Joe finished so we can get on the road.
The body style of these trucks are known as “Mid Roof” because the roof is flat on these. There is still a full sleeper behind the cab. These trucks are meant to be for one driver. The Condos are generally for team drivers.
We finally left Western Express a little after noon. 4 hours to get ready to leave. But, we are on the way out.
Next stop – North 40 Truck Stop in Holladay, Tennessee for some food, check our trucks for a safety inspection before we continue on to where ever we stop for the night.
Here is a town name that, more than likely, has a tale or two that might be interesting.
