Back To Work Again

Before I forget, once again, to show you these cute little flower faces outside the hotel we have been staying in Baltimore, Maryland.

And these faces.

On our last delivery of the dilapidated ladies to the port in Baltimore Joe got permission to get further on the port near the water to take photos of the old, old canons at Ft. McHenry. I didn’t want to get people all excited so I stayed in the pickup.

Yesterday mid-morning Joe found a place to fix my boom so I am back in business.

It is painted bright yellow, per Joe’s request. The welder had a little fun 🙂

While Joe and the welder talked “shop” I strolled around the yard and saw this door in the heap if…..stuff. It looked interesting.

Okay, Joe is after me to get going, we’ve got to leave so everyone have a great day and be safe.

Oh well done Bill the welder 🙂 Leslie hasn’t any excuse for slacking now lol So glad it is all fixed and painted a bright yellow, hope it didn’t hit your pockets too hard.
Aren’t pansies such bright and cheerful flowers with their litle faces? Love them. We have some in one of the flowerbeds flowering their little socks off, Joe (grandson) said one of the colours looks like a doggie’s face 🙂
Oh poo to Ranger for not allowing you to tour the factory or have a store open; you are a VIP (Very Important Person) so they should have made a concession for you 🙂 I’m sure you will have another good idea 🙂

    Love and hugs

Joe laughed out loud at your “slacker” bit and I did too 🙂

I can imagine your Rod would be none too happy either over half-a**ed work after paying a premium to begin with.

Those flowers are so cheery and bright. Made me smile each time I walked passed them. I love seeing pictures of your gardens. I know there is a ton of hard backbreaking work that goes into keeping gardens, not to mention stove up knees, but the payoff is worth it 🙂

Any nibbles on your house yet? Crazy people. All those flower beds of yours I’m surprised you don’t have flocks of people wanting your little slice of tranquility 🙂
      Love you – Leslie

I’m so glad that you were able to get the boom fixed so quickly. It gave you just a wee bit of time to be with Joe, but not so much that you made each other crazy! I’ve always told Charlie that our marriage would last as least twice as long because we’ve spent much less time together than most couples. BTW, our 26th anniversary is coming up next Tuesday, and wouldn’t you know he’s on call?!! Story of MY LIFE!!! We don’t usually do much anyway for it; in the first several years, we’d go out to a fancy dinner, but after the kids came along and their activities picked up, we just never really got back into it. We enjoy dinner with our kids much more than without them. We only have a few years left with them at home (F-O-U-R, to be exact!) and we can wait. We didn’t even do anything for our 25th last year; folks thought we were crazy, not to take advantage of it and do something really special. I just shrug my shoulders and say that my reward comes every day when he chooses to come home to me. That in itself is much more than I deserve.

Kelley (our 19 year old who just finished her first year at UT – you know, the one that almost ALWAYS beats the H*#@ out of Oklahoma….!) left today for 11 weeks and 6 days to do mission work in Del Rio, TX and across the border in Acuna. We are really going to miss her; she was only home for 4 days after the semester ended. I feel like I’ve been robbed of what I always thought would be my last summer with her. After the second year of college, kids usually find a way to stay and don’t come home again to live. It came much too soon! But in talking with a friend today (and here now over the internet) about how I didn’t mind that she spent so much time this week with some of her old high school friends and their families who wanted her to come over for dinner, etc. My friend wondered how I was able to do that. My reaction was simply that Kelley is one of the greatest blessings that the Lord has granted me, and that she has a great heart, is alot of fun to be around and makes people feel good when she’s with them, and that I couldn’t possibly withhold such a wonderful experience from other people; it would be downright selfish. I never really had given it much thought, and it just kind of came out, but it’s really how I feel.

… least until she tells me that she can’t make it home for CHRISTMAS!!!! Pity the fool that has the nerve to tell me THAT!!!!

Sorry to blather on (as you say) about what’s been going on lately, but since our cell phones weren’t cooperating today, I felt the need to catch you up. Perhaps this would be the kind of stuff that could be posted on a blog…..HMMMM, I should get one.

Wait, I forgot I HAD one!!!

    Pity THIS fool!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!! A bit early but happy for you nonetheless. Maybe no one will get sick or need his services that day!! Well one can only hope anyway 🙂

Sounds like your oldest daughter is a “Mini You” 🙂 we know where Del Rio is, stayed at a Days Inn there many many times on our way to Calexico, California.

I hope she and her group are safe over in Mexico. Lord knows all the upheaval going on in that part of the world. It is a testament to you and your husband sharing your values with your children and they grow up with giving hearts instead of selfish and grubbing ones. I’m so glad to name you my friend.

      26 years with Charlie. Here’s to 60 more 🙂
      Love you Big Sis
